Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Sport Creates Memories (“SCM”, “we”, “us”) is a non-profit organisation founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, building grassroots football communities across Africa. For data-protection purposes under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), SCM is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

• —Contact data — your name and email address when you write to us.
• —Donation data — when you donate, payment is handled by our payment partner Donorbox; we receive your name, email and donation amount, never your full card details.
• —Programme data — information about coaches, teams and players participating in our leagues (such as names, team affiliations and match statistics), collected through our registration and league-management systems.
• —Technical data — basic, aggregated usage information about visits to this website. We do not run advertising trackers.

3. Children's data

Our programmes involve young footballers. We collect only the information needed to organise leagues safely (such as a player's name, age group and team), always through the player's coach or guardian. Published league results and statistics identify players by name and team only. A parent or guardian may ask us to remove or anonymise a child's data at any time by contacting us.

4. How we use your data

• —To respond to your messages and requests.
• —To process and acknowledge donations, and to meet accounting and charity-law obligations.
• —To organise leagues, fixtures and player development programmes.
• —To report on our impact — always in aggregated form unless we have consent to tell an individual story.

5. Sharing

We never sell personal data. We share data only with the service providers who make our work possible — such as Donorbox (donations), our website and database hosting providers, and email services — and only to the extent needed. These providers process data under their own privacy policies and our instructions. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: donation records as long as Danish accounting law requires, programme data for the duration of a player's or coach's participation, and correspondence as long as the conversation is live. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

To exercise any of these rights, email lj@sportcreatesmemories.dk and we will respond within one month.

• —Access the personal data we hold about you.
• —Ask us to correct or delete it.
• —Object to or restrict our processing of it.
• —Receive it in a portable format.
• —Complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) if you believe we have mishandled your data.

We may update this policy as our work evolves. The date at the top shows the latest revision; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
